The River Lot and the lakes of the Lot-et-Garonne offer a range of water sports for thrill-seekers and families alike. From waterskiing and wakeboarding to leisure boating and open-water swimming, there's plenty to get you on (or in) the water during your stay at Lasclottes.
What's Available
Waterskiing
The Club Nautique Penne Saint-Sylvestre offers waterskiing sessions on the Lot, just minutes from Lasclottes. Suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced skiers. Equipment and instruction are provided.
Wakeboarding
Wakeboarding is also available at the Club Nautique. The calm, wide sections of the Lot are ideal for learning, and the club's instructors can get beginners up and riding within a session or two.
Leisure Boating
Electric boats and leisure craft can be hired for gentle cruises on the Lot. A peaceful way to spend an afternoon, drifting past the fields and villages that line the river. No licence required for small electric boats.
Open-Water Swimming
The floating swimming pool (piscine flottante) at Saint-Sylvestre-sur-Lot is a unique facility — a proper swimming pool floating on the river itself, with lifeguards and changing facilities. Open in summer and popular with families.
Where to Go
Club Nautique Penne Saint-Sylvestre
The closest water sports centre to Lasclottes, offering waterskiing, wakeboarding, and boat hire on the River Lot. The club is welcoming to visitors and offers sessions for beginners through to advanced. This is the go-to spot for anyone wanting to try something more active on the water.
Ferme du Lacaÿ (Boat & Leisure Hire)
Another useful option for family-friendly boat hire on the Lot. Ferme du Lacaÿ is known locally for electric leisure boat and river equipment hire, which makes it a good low-stress choice if you want a gentler outing on the water.
Availability varies in peak season, so we recommend booking in advance.
Piscine Flottante, Saint-Sylvestre-sur-Lot
A floating outdoor swimming pool on the River Lot, open during the summer months. It offers the experience of swimming in the river environment with the safety and facilities of a proper pool. Supervised by lifeguards, with changing rooms and a small café. A unique and refreshing experience.
Lac de Fumel
A supervised lake beach with swimming, pedalos, and picnic areas. The lake has a designated swimming zone with lifeguards in summer, plus grassy areas for sunbathing and a playground for children. A good option for a family day out away from the river.
Back at Lasclottes
After a morning of water sports, head back to Lasclottes and cool off in the private swimming pool, set in the garden with views over the grounds and down to the river.
The pool is the perfect place to spend lazy afternoons between activities — loungers and parasols are available, and you can keep an eye on the river below in case you spot a hot air balloon or a heron.
