Lasclottes sits on the banks of the River Lot, one of southwest France's finest coarse fishing rivers. With private pontoons, 150 metres of private river frontage, and a designated night fishing zone running directly past the property, it's a destination that anglers return to year after year.
What You Can Catch
The River Lot holds exceptional stocks of carp, with fish regularly caught to 44 lb and beyond from the Lasclottes pontoons. Catfish (silure) are abundant, with specimens to 83 lb landed here. The river also holds bream, tench, pike, perch, and zander.
Whether you're a specimen hunter after big carp or a family looking for a fun afternoon by the river, there's something for everyone. The stretch at Lasclottes is particularly productive thanks to its depth, cover, and year-round flow.
Night Fishing
The River Lot has a designated 6 km night carp fishing zone running from Saint-Sylvestre-sur-Lot directly past the property. Night fishing is heavily restricted across France, making this a rare privilege for visiting anglers.
Set up on the pontoon as the sun goes down, and fish through the warm summer nights with nothing but the sound of the river and the occasional splash of a feeding carp. It's an experience unlike any other.
Your Fishing Setup
Lasclottes has two private fishing pontoons on the river, giving you direct access without needing to travel anywhere. You can fish from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave.
If you would rather not travel with tackle, we offer a specimen package for hire at the property. The local specialist fishing shop is also about 5 km away and can advise on bait, rigs, and current hot spots on the Lot.
Specimen package: 2 x 13ft 3lb rods, 2 baitrunner reels, bite-indicator buzz-bar setup, 2-man bivvy, fishing bed, framed fishing box/seat, landing net, and unhooking mat with scales.
Hire cost: £100 per week (+ £100 deposit). Two full sets are available and should be reserved at booking.
There's also a river beach area perfect for younger anglers, where smaller fish can be caught on simple float rigs — a great way to introduce children to fishing.
Electric Fishing Boat Hire
For bait placement and fish-playing support, a 2.5m pram dinghy with a small electric trolling motor and battery is available to hire.
Boat hire: £150 per week. Please reserve when you book your stay.
This is often used for accurate bait placement and can be extremely useful when playing larger fish in flowing water.
